Thank you for great adventure travel guide and by putting this lists together. I guess for any outdoor activity, we need appropriate footwear like boots and rubber shoes for comfort and safety. Look for pair of shoes that can do double duty and can be worn in the city or while out having adventures to save space on your luggage.

I hate to mention it but there are a few factual errors contained within this post:

Point 2 - "The entire island was part of and controlled by Britain"

Not really. The island of Ireland was an integral part of the United Kingdom and as such enjoyed full representation in the UK parliament. It was not 'controlled' by Britain.

Point 3 - "In 1921, 26 counties in the south were given independence and became the Republic of Ireland"

In 1921 the Southern 26 counties actually became the Irish Free State; this Dominion status required an oath of allegiance to the British king by Irish parliamentarians and saw continued British influence in Irish affairs. The Republic of Ireland only truly came into existence in 1949.

Point 5 - "Ireland has remained neutral during the two World Wars"

Ireland was an integral part of the United Kingdom during the First World War and thus was considered at war with Germany. It is true, however, that conscription did not apply across the island as it did in Great Britain. The same is true of Northern Ireland during World War II.

Point 10 - "The Patron Saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick, was Scottish!"

Perhaps - or he might have been Welsh, or English! No-one seems to really know...
